The Phantom Origin Story

Every great product begins with a vision. The Halo Phantom was not built overnight — it was born through years of innovation, resilience, and relentless belief. This page takes you behind the scenes of how Halo became one of the most visible and premium electric hydrofoil experiences in the world.

Born in Kelowna, British Columbia

The journey began on the waters of the Okanagan in Kelowna, British Columbia. After countless rides beneath the William R. Bennett Bridge, one question kept returning: what if the board itself could illuminate the lake? That idea became the spark that would define Halo.

The Conversation That Changed Everything

Sometimes one simple conversation changes the future. During a discussion with Carey’s father about how to make the eFoil stand apart, one powerful idea was shared: why not add lights to the board? That single moment ignited an entirely new category in electric hydrofoiling.

The Moment of Validation

During field testing in Lake Havasu, Arizona, marine police stopped the Halo team at sunset. Their message was clear: visibility matters. That moment validated the importance of marine-safe lighting technology and reinforced Halo’s mission to combine performance with safety.

Going All In

Once the vision was clear, there was no turning back. In 2020, Carey moved immediately into action — investing everything into development, legal protection, and intellectual property in both Canada and the United States. Halo was no longer just an idea. It had become a mission.

Years of Testing

What followed were years of relentless testing, refinement, and prototype development. From winter lake rides to engineering revisions and rider feedback, every challenge pushed the Phantom closer to perfection. Each prototype helped shape the premium ride experience Halo is known for today.

Validated by the Best

The Halo Phantom was tested and validated by world-class athletes, water professionals, instructors, and first responders. This was not theory — it was real-world performance validation from some of the most experienced people in the industry.

Tested Around the World

From the lakes of Canada to waters in Austria, China, and the United States, Halo underwent global performance testing. Different climates, conditions, and riders helped validate the Phantom’s reliability, visibility, and premium performance worldwide.

Community Validation

Halo has been built alongside an incredible community of riders, founders, and supporters. From early testimonials to founder allocation reservations, the response from riders across North America has been instrumental in shaping the brand and validating the vision.

The Patent Breakthrough

Halo’s innovations are protected by intellectual property and approved patents, including the Patented Visibility System (PVS), MSLED marine lighting technology, and the VertiDrive telescoping mast system. These breakthroughs define Halo’s category leadership and technological moat.

Built by Hustle

Before Halo became a premium global brand, it was built from a 10×20 storage locker in downtown Kelowna. Through relentless execution, belief, and hard work, MSLR Electric achieved its first $1M+ in sales — laying the foundation for Halo’s future.

Built With Our Customers

Halo was built with the support of its customers and community. The Halo Phantom Referral Program rewards those who help grow the brand, creating an ownership ecosystem where riders are more than customers — they are ambassadors.

Premium Engineering

Every detail of the Halo Phantom has been carefully engineered for premium performance. From patented lighting systems to carbon finishes, premium lithium battery cells, remote technology, and accessories, every component reflects Halo’s commitment to quality.

The Halo Ecosystem

Halo is more than a board — it is a complete ownership experience. From lessons and training to certifications, insurance support, upgrades, and after-sales care, the ecosystem is designed to support riders at every level.
